I’m also quite a good cook, I like to get my clients motivated to eat a well balanced diet where possible. I’m very proactive, putting the clients needs first at all times, maintaining my client is clean & comfortable, happy, & all there care needs are met. I’m also trained in changing stoma bags, & catheter bags, if a client has a district nurse that comes to visit them, I can change the stoma or catheter bag while the nurse is there, as they could witness this, & also sign me off. If the client enjoys going outside either in their wheelchair, or walking I could assist with helping, also I could arrange to take the client to a day centre, or to the park. I’m use to liaising with family members if there is any issues, & I can also arrange doctors appointments or hospital appointments, as I use to dealing with other healthcare professionals. I prefer to work with female clients or couples. I arrange & pay for my own travel, as I work in London a lot, I prefer London & other areas also. I don’t mind dogs or cats. I feel I have always offered a sensitive approach to all of those I’ve cared for, always ensuring their needs are met in a kind and dignified manner. I have gained an Advanced Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care which followed my Level 2. In addition to this I have an NVQ Level 2 in Early Years & Childcare & have been certified with Key skills in Communication & Application of Number, First Aid, Moving & Handling & Administering Medication. I am currently studying part time with the Open University - working towards a Psychology degree. I’ve always enjoyed my role as a Care worker, meeting many wonderful individuals & families who I’ve built up a rapport with & being able to care for them in their own home whilst always promoting their independence has always given me great job satisfaction - whilst always ensuring each service user’s individual needs are attended to & that their safety and confidentiality remains paramount.
