Empathy, adaptability under pressure, updating care plans, maintaining solid records, working well in teams, ability to communicate with individuals with little or no capacity, excellent communication and interpersonal skills etc.. I work in hospitals and nursing homes where duties and obligations are crucial to nursing for example, administering medication to patients pulse oximeter checks, intentional rounds, tracheotomy change, sanctioning, and blood glucose levels, just to mention a few. I provide personalized care and support to vulnerable individuals, assisting them to retain maximum independence. Worked closely with nurses to maintain optimum levels of communication. I am a very experienced carer. Excellent command of English as my first language, albeit with a South African accent, which I haven't lost, despite being back in the UK for 20 years! I've been involved in caring in a number of ways for 10 years. During this time I have looked after people from birth to over 100 years old, the oldest being 103, all with a variety of challenges, disabilities, personal quirks and individual requirements.
