OL11 1PB 103085 I have over 7 years of working in the care industry these are skills and understanding I have gained 1. Ability to be sensitive and understanding of others, over the years I have worked in different care homes, support homes and mental health homes and the most important thing is learning to listen to the vulnerable people in your care, If they have the ability to be completely self sufficient they would so most importantly is understanding the people in your care. 2. A desire to help people, I feel empathy for people and I desire to help people in need who necessarily cant help themselves 3. Ability to work well with other, working with different people with various complex need can be challenging and I have learnt to have patience with people am caring about and people/colleagues I am working with to provide the best possible care for residents. 4. Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations, over the years I have worked with dementia patience and people with challenging behaviours one thing I have learned is the art of being patient when they appear confused or irritated in other not to make irrational decisions and also working with some colleagues require a great deal of patience. 5.Ability to accept criticism either good or bad , It is important to accept criticism inn my experience to improve how one delivers services to residents and how to work with colleagues as well. 6. It is important to have good communication skills to be able to understand and speak to people properly. 7. Good attention to detail etc. 1 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"3","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"3","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"3","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"3","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"3","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"3","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"3"}

OL16 1ST 8252 I believe caring for others has to come naturally, I was brought up by my paternal grandmother already in her 70s, helping her around with small things like picking something on the floor, handing it to her , giving her a drinks etc . As she progressed with age, I was also becoming a young woman,I could realise she was getting tired and I would offer to do anything for her, so I became a Carer without knowing. I loved reading novels and my grandmother enjoyed listening to me read out loud ,it became our Saturday night activity as I wouldn’t be going to school the following day. On Sundays we would walk to church and back for the fact that granny believed in keeping her muscles moving . Walking with my grandmother taught me to listen as she always had a tale to tell, Sundays became my favourite days as I was always looking forward to listening to another story. When I became a Professional Carer , that’s when I realised how much my childhood impacted in my life, I empathise with everyone I care for, I listen to them and participated in any activities they enjoy. Caring for elderly or anyone who needs my help gives me a purpose in life. In my spare time I like to exercise ,cook, watch movies or read. I have been a Professional Carer for the past nine years, cared for individuals with Dementia, Parkinson's,Epileptic,Physical disabilities ,COPD, Stroke,Palliative care. Started caring in a Nursing home for two and a half years ,moved to Supported living with young adults transitioning to adulthood from 2010 to 2015 . 2015 - 2017 worked with The Good Care Group as a Live-in Professional Carer supporting elderly with various conditions in their own homes. August 2017 my aunt had a stroke and I had to give up work and care for her. October 2018 she passed away, November 2018 I started working with Elder Care as a Live in Carer supporting elderly. As a Carer I have acquired various certificates including, Care Certificate, First Aid,Moving and Handling, Mental Health awareness Level 2 to mention a few. I’d like to believe that I am a great Carer as everyone I’ve cared for has given my employer a really good feedback about my work, as a trained Carer I believe in person centred care, we are all different and our needs are different, everything I do with anyone I seek permission and let them know what I wish to do. In addition I’m very flexible , committed , trusted and reliable individual. {"field_care_type_first":"0","field_care_type_second":"0","field_care_type_third":"0","field_care_type_fourth":"0","field_care_type_fifth":"0","field_care_type_sixth":"0","field_care_type_seven":"0"}

OL2 5FH 268954 Caring for the vulnerable and elderly is not just a profession for me; it is a deeply rooted passion that has guided my personal and professional journey. From a young age, I have been drawn to the idea of providing compassionate care to those who need it most. This commitment has fueled my desire to pursue a career in looking after the elderly with a focus on personalized and comprehensive personal care. My journey into the field of caregiving began with a realization of the profound impact that genuine care can have on an individual's quality of life, particularly the elderly. Witnessing the vulnerability and challenges faced by this demographic sparked a sense of responsibility within me. I embarked on a journey to equip myself with the necessary skills and knowledge to make a positive difference in their lives. Throughout my academic and professional pursuits, I have dedicated myself to understanding the unique needs of the elderly population. I have completed relevant coursework and training programs that focus on geriatric care, emphasizing the importance of not only addressing physical needs but also fostering emotional well-being. I believe that the holistic well-being of an individual is achieved through a combination of empathy, respect, and skilled care. In my practical experiences, I have had the privilege of working closely with elderly individuals, tailoring my approach to meet their individual requirements. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, I have embraced the opportunity to establish meaningful connections. Engaging in active listening has allowed me to understand their life stories, preferences, and concerns, enabling me to provide a level of care that goes beyond the surface. I am committed to upholding the principles of dignity, independence, and autonomy for the elderly under my care. I recognize the importance of fostering a sense of empowerment, allowing individuals to maintain control over their lives to the greatest extent possible. Through open communication and collaboration with both the elderly and their families, I strive to create a supportive environment that promotes well-being. The challenges inherent in caring for the vulnerable and elderly require resilience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for making a positive impact. I am committed to continuously enhancing my skills and staying abreast of advancements in the field to provide the highest standard of care. It is my sincere belief that every individual, regardless of age or vulnerability, deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and the utmost respect. In conclusion, my personal and professional journey is rooted in a profound commitment to caring for the vulnerable and elderly. I am not merely a caregiver; I am an advocate for the well-being and quality of life of those in my care. My goal is to contribute to a society where every elderly individual feels valued, respected, and supported, knowing that their well-being is in compassionate and capable hands I’m originally from Zimbabwe I have lived in the UK for the past 20 years, 16 years as a health care and 4 years as a qualified General Registered Nurse.
