My children have flown the nest,so I occupy myself doing what I love doing best whenever I get the opportunity to help others .I am a Dental nurse by profession, but I decided to do something different,working in the Care industry looking after people with different ailments and also gaining more experience. I enjoy trying new recipes,knitting, gardening,going to church as a Christian and also making someone smile and doing the little things to make another persons day better. I also love to show the other person that i care and to find the potential to make a difference in someone's life. I worked in nursing homes, residential homes, mental institutions, in Jewish colleges, worked with teenagers with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours. I also worked with adults from the age of 18 years to 100 years old in day care centres on day or night shifts.I worked with clients suffering from Spinal injuries in their own homes. I'm quite independent and also a creative person as well as being friendly which allows me to be approachable.I have excellent communication skills and very reliable.I've worked as a live in carer for almost 15 years in total and i thrive in helping service users to remain in their own homes by providing them with the support and care they need.I feel the desire of wanting to help someone by showing empathy and compassion.I enjoy working with older adults because they have so much to tell concerning the past like history and when they talk about how they grew up and also how life was comparing it to today.
